One Raceway's customers will shortly be able to experience a new dimension at the venue, with the facility's skid pan opening for business on Saturday, 22 November.
The 9,700 square metre area, located behind the pit lane garages, is large enough to be used by two vehicles simultaneously, with an advanced sprinkler system providing extensive water coverage across the concrete surface.
The inaugural event on 22 November will be an Advanced Skid Pan Training event, in which participants will be able to experience their vehicle’s handling characteristics in a safe, controlled environment.
At a One Raceway Advanced Skid Pan event, participants will learn:
- The difference between understeer and oversteer, and how to correct each type of skid.
- Experiencing their vehicle’s active safety systems, such as ABS and stability control, and understanding how they work to enable the driver to maintain control.
- Other advanced car control techniques to enable drivers to improve their skills.
Entries for One Raceway's first Advanced Skid Pan event iare capped at a maximum of 12 cars, allowing all participants ample time on the skid pan.
