One Raceway is delighted to announce racing driver and mechanic Maisie Place as an official ambassador for the circuit.
Place has been a competitor in the Mazda RX8 Cup Series since 2018 but also has extensive experience as a mechanic, currently running her successful Maisie Place Motorsport mechanical workshop in Moruya on the NSW south coast.
As well as running cars in the RX8 Cup, Maisie Place Motorsport has also campaigned entries in high-profile events such as the Bathurst 6 Hour.
Place has even raced on the world stage, competing in the American Endurance Racing Series at Watkins Glen.
Place has forged an impressive reputation for attracting new participants into motorsport, and is a two-time recipient of the Motorsport Australia Coral Taylor Award, which is presented annually to a NSW or ACT-based female in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the sport.
As an ambassador for One Raceway, Place will promote the venue and will be involved in activities such as driver development and coaching.
Quotes - Maisie Place, One Raceway Ambassador
“I’m thrilled to be appointed as an ambassador for One Raceway, in its former guise as Wakefield Park, it was my home track and I have some fond memories, including winning my division in the Wakefield 300 with Phil Alexander in 2019.
“It was so exciting when the track reopened as One Raceway, and to see the improvement in the circuit and facilities has been incredible. I can’t wait to drive the anti-clockwise Shelley layout!
“I’m looking forward to working with the One Raceway team to attract more people into motorsport and help educate people about all aspects of the sport, including the mechanical aspects of vehicle preparation.”
