Open Pit Lane Race Car Test Days
Open Pit Lane Race Car Days give race teams the opportunity to test their race cars over extended periods of continuous track time.
Open Pit Lane Race Car Test Days may run on the Wakefield Circuit, Shelley Circuit or a combination of both - check the calendar for details.
Entries for Open Pit Lane Race Car Test Days are capped at 20 cars, to minimise on-track disruptions for participants.
Race Car Testing
Vehicle Eligibility
- Tin top race cars only; open-wheelers and prototype sports cars not permitted (we will look at doing open pit lane days specifically for these cars in the future).
- Cars must be capable of doing a lap time (on the Wakefield circuit) of 1:13 or faster.
Safety Requirements
- Helmets (AS/NZS 1698 compliant), full-coverage clothing (from neck to wrists to ankles), and closed-toe shoes are mandatory for all drivers.
- Drivers must have a valid Motorsport Australia licence; day licences are available to purchase at the circuit office during sign-on.
Fees
- Entry fee is $880 per car
- A second driver can be added for $100
- Pit lane garages are available for $95; carports are available at no cost
