1R Advanced Skid Pan Training

Welcome to the first-ever One Raceway skid pan event!

One Raceway Advanced Skid Pan events allow you to experience your vehicle’s handling characteristics in a safe, controlled environment.

At a One Raceway Advanced Skid Pan event, you will learn:

• The difference between understeer and oversteer, and how to correct each type of skid.
• Experiencing your vehicle’s active safety systems, such as ABS and stability control, and understanding how they work to enable you to maintain control.
• Other advanced car control techniques to enable you to improve your skills.

Advanced Skid Pan events are held on One Raceway’s 9,100 square metre concrete skid pan, complete with a sprinkler system to keep the surface wet and allow you to slide your vehicle at low speeds.

Entries for Advanced Skid Pan events are capped at a maximum of 12 cars, allowing all participants ample time on the skid pan.

Advanced Skid Pan events - key information

• Vehicles must be currently registered in an Australian state or territory. Rear-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended for Advanced Skid Pan events.
• Vehicles must comply with a noise limit of 95dB at 30 metres.
• Drivers must be a minimum of 14 years of age, but are not required to hold a current driver’s licence.
• Passengers for Advanced Skid Pan events are not permitted; instructors will be on hand at the event to sit in the passengers’ seats of participants’ vehicles.
